For my Silverwing literature circle I chose the book Fantastic Mr. Fox. Fantastic Mr. Fox is a book written by Roald Dahl. It is about three farmers Boggis,Bunce,and Bean who absolutely despise,Mr.Fox. They are trying to get rid of him because he steals Boggis's chickens,Bean's apples,and Bunce's geese and ducks. The farmers decide to dig out the hill Mr.Fox lives in to kill him.But that doesn't stop Mr.Fox .Him and his family dig and dig until the farmers decide to wait for them to come out,then they shoot.Meanwhile underground, Mr.fox,his family, and friends are in huge distress until plans strike and parties begin!

This book connects to Silverwing by one main way,an animal on a mission.Shade must get to Hibernaculum,and Mr.Fox has to save his family and the surrounding neighbours trapped in the hill. They are very different,but by the time you get down to the bottom line,they have the smae ideas. Fnatastic Mr. Fox is very different from silverwing because first of all,a fox.Second of all they are on different quests and are in different writing styles.For example, Silverwing is written more for older children from grades 3-7 adn Fantastic Mr.Fox is more of a funny book for children of all ages.
